Welcome – I’m Evan, and this is my blog. I’m a writer (as well as an incurable reader and history dork) of strange tales. My first novel, the supernatural thriller The King in Darkness, was released by Renaissance Press in 2015, and the sequel, Bonhomme Sept-Heures, was released at the end of October 2016.
My third novel, Easter Pinkerton and the Case of the Heretic Blood, was released by Renaissance in October 2022.
Here on the website, I write about my own process and experiences in writing and publishing and various other things that scurry through my fevered mind. I’ll also keep you updated about news regarding my books, Renaissance Press, and any other writing projects I get up to.
The blog currently updates each Tuesday, with potential Bonus Entries if the mood should strike.
I am also the co-host of the Broadcasts from the Wasteland podcast with my friend Brandon Crilly, on which we discuss writing and stories with other creatives we either know or would like to know better. I would be delighted if you wanted to check it out, either on iTunes or Spotify, or via the link to our website.
Do visit my wonderful publishers at Renaissance Press. They are fantastic people who love books and writers. Support them if you can.
If you like, you can also follow me on Twitter @GiantTourtiere. I am now also on Mastodon at @GiantTourtiere@wandering.shop
You can also join me on Facebook for more news about whatever it is that I’m getting up to, and my books and I are also on Goodreads if you’d like to find us there!
Holy boats, I’m even on Instagram now. I’m gradually figuring out what to do with that.
I feel like this should be obvious, but: All material printed on this site is copyrighted by me and cannot be reprinted without permission. I’d probably be delighted if you wanted to use any of it, but please just make sure you ask first and credit where you found it.

You know, I tried doing the same, but at the end of the week I was dead. Instead, I try to write two days in one, so I’d write 2k words on Monday and then 2k words on Wednesday etc. It really helped! : )
Interesting – I can imagine those days off being useful. Maybe I’ll try that this summer with the new project.
Hi Evan,
Believe it or not, you were my history professor at Dawson college back in 2008/2009. I would like to get in touch with you (for some history chats), do you have an email address I can teach you at?
Regards,
Eric
Hi Eric,
Nice to hear from you! I don’t want to post an email address here for probably obvious reasons; why don’t you message me on my Facebook page?
Hi Evan,
Of course I understand.
I am currently not using Facebook, so maybe you can shoot me an email at my email address- ea9690@yahoo.com
Regards!
